About Me

My photo
Hi, Welcome to my Blog. I'm an eclectic kind of crafter delving into many pots. I am just about managing to keep up my Scrapbooking Diary (usually about 6 months behind), plus any cards as required. I have a new found love of watercolour and Bible Journaling plus recently Junk Journaling too. Previously I've also dabbled in ATCs, Tags, Altered Books, Mixed Media, Art Journaling, Décopatch, Knitting, Crochet, and Embroidery amongst other things. I live in Surrey, UK with my husband, our son has left home now. For exercise I usually play Badminton and go Ballroom and Latin Dancing, but am plagued by a bad back. I like walking which I couple with Geocaching and sometimes Bouncing on my Rebounder (mini trampoline). I guess I am officially retired now. I am a born again Christian, currently worshiping at my local Vineyard Church.

A few more things...

Firstly my January calendar for the 12 months in view challenge.

Secondly a few tags made for a church outreach project.

Thirdly my son's birthday card based on his favourite computer game TF2. Not an easy thing making a teenager's card.

Tim Holtz - 12 Tags of 2013

I've been binding again! Second time now! I have made a little book of my Tim Holtz - 12 tags of 2013.

I made the cover tag using something from all of the 12 tags.

WOYWW #238 - Christmas Knitivity

Happy Christmas

Thought you all might like to see the Christmas Knitivity that I knitted the cutey little sheep for. It has been doing the rounds in the local area and I caught up with it in the library earlier this month.

There was a box with loads of sheep for each participant to choose from as it did the rounds.

Here are my 4 contributions, although I carried on making them, 13 in all so far...  and they all seem to have found homes since too. I even made a purple one for my tree!

Have a lovely day everyone.

Behold The lamb of God who takes away the sin of the world.

I Bound-It-All

Horrah, a day before it was a year since I got my "Bind-It-All" tool (last Christmas!) and I have at last bound my FIRST ever book.

My Craft Barn Alpha Challenge has the honour of being this first book. I got some Kraft card to stick all the pages to and have been cutting and gluing all day as a result!

The cover page I made today too using some of the stencils I bought at The Craft Barn only last week. I also used Craft Barn colours, and no spiral bound book is rightly finished without the cursory ribbons and a charm. Think it is me jumping for joy.

Here's the pages all together, also pending sticking and then bound at last.

Was going to pop a couple of double pages in to show it was properly bound but couldn't choose, so you got them all! It is one special book of special days, thank you for the Challenge at The Craft Barn, already looking forward to next year's challenge.

The Washi Tape Addiction!

I have recently joined the Facebook group my 2014's challenge called "The Documented Life Project". It is all about Art Journalling and Daily Planners and Washi Tape.

I had a few reels of Washi which I store on jailer rings (have requested a few more rings for Christmas).

Then it was mentioned on the group that Staples had some for 49p each and a 3 for 2 offer to boot, could I resist? I think not. I got all the designs except the skyline one - shame as that was a nice one so no wonder it was sold out.

So, finding it hard waiting for my book (an Ikea notebook) for Christmas to use my washi, I have done my latest 12 Months in View tag with Washi tape. I even made the tie from 2 washi tapes stuck back to back. I added a couple of card stickers I'd received in an advent gift to finish it off.

Oh and as I seem to have a serious lack of purple washi in my collection I have added some to my latest craft order, although not sure from the web photos if the set was mainly pink or purple, but hey ho.

Happy sigh!

TH #12 - December Tag

Horrah, how good it feels when you create something, even more so when you are inspired by a blog and make do with what you have or can purchase.

I have been pondering Timmy's December tag for a few weeks since it was published and wondering whether I could make do without a Poinsettia die - I think not. But could I get his one - I think not. So I ended up with the Poppystamps one which I bought today at The Craft Barn. It had shown as "sold out" on the web but I spotted it in a curious basket under the counter and asked and yes it was awaiting being put out. Hurdle ONE.

I didn't have any of the film stuff and my die was a thin one anyways so I opted for vellum and distress inks which worked a treat. I also used a tag I had previously (in another life as it was so long ago) embossed and "golded". Not a Timmy stencil to be had at the shop either so I used my Dylusions one. I had a Christmas token hanging around so added that too and some string from one of the tags from my décopatch items.

Oops just spotted I need to add some white paint - hope I don't spoil it with a splodge...............
Phew, tag survived but my laptop got a liberal dusting of white paint - how festive - LOL.

WOYWW #237 - One Week To Go...

Christmas is nearly upon us, so come join the fun at Julia's infamous blog hop.

I have been making purple decorations for my tree. First a beaded house, then a purple sheep then a bird. I even bought some more felt!

My craft group have been doing an ATC exchange for Christmas and these are my ATCs received so far.

The ATCs are sitting on a couple of Ikea wide framed mirrors which I intend to alter "one day".

I have also made a card for my uncle who shares his birthday with my son on Saturday! 91yrs and 15yrs respectively! I have made my son a card too but can't really share that yet...

Felt House Decoration

Not sure where I saw the little felt and bead house decorations but along with that and a nudge by one WOYWW lady this week I have just made myself a purple beaded, ribboned, embroidered house decoration.

I now have 3 different accent colours for the Christmas tree and have decided to rotate them each year so I am back at purple now (turquoise next and lime green to follow). The purple reminds me of Cadbury's Dairy Milk Chocolate - YUM.

Anyway you can't buy purple decorations very readily this year (I got one in Homebase but that is all!) so making one was the ideal solution to add to my accent colour this year.

WOYWW #236 - Plenty Award

Here's my desk this week and pride of place is my Craft Club Award.

Not sure if you were on board with my "Juan Sheet" episode, where craft club used "one piece" of patterned paper to make lots of cards with. I was so tickled pink by the class title that I went on to make quite a few lots of "Juan Sheet" cards.

Here's my original post including the UK advert which sparked all the hilarity. HERE

Anyway, little be known to me the craft club make awards for the end of the year and I was presented with the "Plenty ACMC Award for
Best Newcomer". I clapped in delight. Isn't that just FAB. Here are the tags I made the organisers as the sister club finished this week too.

Other crafty things this week are the last 2 pages for the Craft Barn Challenge which I have posted HERE.

Also various pages/items for the December pages of my 12 Months Journal. And finally all the little pillow box diecuts from craft club this week ready to be made up for my advent pocket calendar as they are just the right size.

Hope this wasn't too long for a WOYWW post but I know some of you love to know what I have been up to. Wisdom tooth socket getting better slowly so to make up for that I fell down our outside steps and have mega bruises and my ribs are all sore too. Whatever Next?
