About Me

My photo
Hi, Welcome to my Blog. I'm an eclectic kind of crafter delving into many pots. I am just about managing to keep up my Scrapbooking Diary (usually about 6 months behind), plus any cards as required. I have a new found love of Watercolour and Bible Journaling plus recently Faith/Art Journaling too. I've challenged myself to make an art journal page a day for this my 60th year. Previously I've also dabbled in ATCs, Tags, Altered Books, Mixed Media, Décopatch, Knitting, Crochet, and Embroidery amongst other things. I live in Surrey, UK with my husband, our son has left home now. For exercise I usually play Badminton and go Ballroom and Latin Dancing. I also like walking/Geocaching and sometimes do a bit of Bouncing on my Rebounder (mini trampoline). I have been learning to play the harp for the past 10yrs. I am now officially retired. I am a born again Christian, currently worshiping at my local Vineyard Church.

Q&L #09 - Fame

My Craft Barn entry, yet again at the last minute but inspired by a tag received in a swap, I got to work on my page.

I used the large lady stamp from the Indigo Blu freebie magazine set.

The quote I found online is by Henry David Thoreau. "Rather than love, than money, than fame, give me truth"

I used my Andy Skinner word stamps, which I bought from the Craft Barn some time ago. I cobbled together the words "Money" and "Fame" using a number of the stamps letter by letter. I typed the small words on my manual typewriter.

Lovely page, but the truth can sometimes be hard to take...:-)

I can't believe you get free stamps in magazines. That's not the case in the states. She is a real beauty, too.

I like that you used a manual typewriter to add words. What a unique perspective (pun was NOT intended).

I really like the ransom type stamping you did with the other words. They brought the quote to life.

Lovely page, you must have used quite a few stencils! Love how you cobbled the words together, I would never guessed they were stamped letter by letter.

The Indigo freebies are a def need! Did you also see the Lavinia stamp freebies on Papercraft Essentials issue 107? Lavinia stamps are very expensive, i know as i purchaes a couple last year. You would pay £8 for the fairy alone so another great buy. The mag has a couple of good articles this time too.

I usually purchase mags for their freebies except Craft Stamper and Cloth Paper Scissors.

I love to research, that's how i find many things. Research is like meditation for me, can't do as much as i used to so enjoy honing my skills with this particular Challenge lol. xxx

Wow BJ this is a beautiful page. Fabulous quote. Gorgeous colours, background, stamp (Oh yes that stamp!!) and the words - all perfect. I leant my manual typewriter to someone and never had it returned :( but maybe her need was greater than mine. Have a wonderful week :o)

Hi BJ love what you have done with the free stamp. I think the set is one of the best freebies I have seen on a magazine.
Happy crafting, Angela x
