About Me

My photo
Hi, Welcome to my Blog. I'm an eclectic kind of crafter delving into many pots. I am just about managing to keep up my Scrapbooking Diary (usually about 6 months behind), plus any cards as required. I have a new found love of watercolour and Bible Journaling plus recently Junk Journaling too. Previously I've also dabbled in ATCs, Tags, Altered Books, Mixed Media, Art Journaling, Décopatch, Knitting, Crochet, and Embroidery amongst other things. I live in Surrey, UK with my husband, our son has left home now. For exercise I usually play Badminton and go Ballroom and Latin Dancing, but am plagued by a bad back. I like walking which I couple with Geocaching and sometimes Bouncing on my Rebounder (mini trampoline). I guess I am officially retired now. I am a born again Christian, currently worshiping at my local Vineyard Church.

Olympic Mens Road Race

The Mens Olympic Road Race was doing 9 loops of Box Hill down the road from us today (Hubby cycles there most weekends) so we popped along to see if we could catch a glimpse. Managed to park in a local farmer's field (at a smallish cost) and walked to the course. It was packed either side of the road. The sun was blazing down and we waited in anticipation. Finally they came by and WHOOSH - How Fast!!! My hubby managed to get this great shot of our lads who were really battleing against the odds at the front of the peloton. We managed to get home to see the end on the TV. So we have seen the Queen at the Derby, the Olympic Torch at Wray Common near Redhill and now the Mens Road Race. What a great year!

Hi BJ, you are doing really well this year and that's a great photo that your hubby took. We were absolutely gutted that they did not win or even place, such a great shame, I feel so sorry for Mark Cavendish, he does not have much luck at the Olympics. A x

What a fab shot honey, lovely to see. Bet it was glorious out in the sunshine too. The atmosphere must have been amazing, how lucky to be so close.

Oooh what a GREAT shot BJ!! I love it. It really captures the speed, the endurance, and the excitement of the occasion. So sad our lads didn't do better, but there you are... I was very sad that Our Tom didn't get a medal today, either.

Thank you for your lovely comment! I'm so glad you liked my 80th birthday card and well done for persevering to the end of my marathon post!! - but glad you didn't find it a hardship! I usually go into a lot of detail with stuff like this, mostly for my own benefit, because it's useful to refer back to if I want to remind myself how I did something.

We gave the lady her card yesterday at her party and she loved it, as did everyone who saw it!

Hope you get your internet problems sorted soon. £100 bill from BT? They charged us £200, and it was their responsibility, not ours!! Outrageous.
