About Me

My photo
Hi, Welcome to my Blog. I'm an eclectic kind of crafter delving into many pots. I am just about managing to keep up my Scrapbooking Diary (usually about 6 months behind), plus any cards as required. I have a new found love of watercolour and Bible Journaling plus recently Junk Journaling too. Previously I've also dabbled in ATCs, Tags, Altered Books, Mixed Media, Art Journaling, Décopatch, Knitting, Crochet, and Embroidery amongst other things. I live in Surrey, UK with my husband, our son has left home now. For exercise I usually play Badminton and go Ballroom and Latin Dancing, but am plagued by a bad back. I like walking which I couple with Geocaching and sometimes Bouncing on my Rebounder (mini trampoline). I guess I am officially retired now. I am a born again Christian, currently worshiping at my local Vineyard Church.

Summer of Colour #6 - Watermelon Ice

Last week of the Colour of Summer Event over at Twinkle, Twinkle. A HUGE thank you to Kristin for running this event, it has been amazing. The colour prompt for the last week was Watermelon Ice and this is my last butterfly ATC to complete the challenge. Must admit I was running out of differrent small butterfly dies to use so these are week 2's with the Swallowtails cut off - part of the Tim Holtz Movers & Shapers mini butterflies die set.

I then used all 6 ATCs for an AJ page. The butterfly trail leads to the butterfly I was given  by my friend Karen
And finally a scrapbook page a did a few years back when my husband took me to Wisley Gardens to see the Butterfly Exhibition. It is just that I happened to do it in Watermelon Ice colours and it was of butterflies that I thought I'd show you all. Pili-pala is Welsh for butterfly!

Thanks to everyone for all the lovely comments over the past 6 weeks. BJ

This all came together so well--your butterflies are all unique in their own way--just like the real ones--wonderful take on Kristin's color challenge.

As always, your art has blown me away. I'm very impressed with both the ATCs and the scrapbook page. Putting them all together like that makes so much sense. I didn't see it coming, either!

You asked about my degrees. I got my Master's Degree in Industrial-Organizational Psychology and my Ph.D. at Wichita State University in Human Factors, which was a cross discipline degree between Engineering and Psychology. I'm all about the science and none about the "couch." Thanks for asking. And yes, those pages were from a class on the study of the brain. It was an ELECTIVE I wanted to take before I joined the HF program in Wichita.

Beautiful butterflies for Watermelon Ice! I particularly like the second one with the sunburst detailing, that's really striking. It's good to see all your butterflies together too :o)

What a clever and sweet way to group all your weeks together. I think when you can see them all at once they look even better than they do individually.
