About Me

My photo
Hi, Welcome to my Blog. I'm an eclectic kind of crafter delving into many pots. I am just about managing to keep up my Scrapbooking Diary (usually about 6 months behind), plus any cards as required. I have a new found love of watercolour and Bible Journaling plus recently Junk Journaling too. Previously I've also dabbled in ATCs, Tags, Altered Books, Mixed Media, Art Journaling, Décopatch, Knitting, Crochet, and Embroidery amongst other things. I live in Surrey, UK with my husband, our son has left home now. For exercise I usually play Badminton and go Ballroom and Latin Dancing, but am plagued by a bad back. I like walking which I couple with Geocaching and sometimes Bouncing on my Rebounder (mini trampoline). I guess I am officially retired now. I am a born again Christian, currently worshiping at my local Vineyard Church.

Alpha Challenge #01 - Valentine

The Craft Barn are starting a year long fortnightly challenge based on the alphabet. They are starting with the letter "V" and after skimming through my dictionary I came up with VALENTINE.

Nearly went with the traditional red but ended up with purple and gold instead.

I am doing my letters on pieces of 6" x 6" paper and will bind the set with my new Bind-it-all when I have completed the challenge. I intend to stick 2 pieces back to back and will probably bind it in alphabetical order too. We'll see.

Might try to find a special day in the year for each letter too, I'll see how that goes!

Hi BJ, nice to see you again. Loving your choice of word and the colours you have used. Great idea to make them as separate sheets and to bind it all at the end.

Lots of great ideas there, making your pages individually and then gluing them back to back in alphabetical order, I cannot wait to see it finished! It will end up being a very eclectic book with an alphabet theme! love it! waving hi from the hills of North Carolina :)

Beautiful page sweetie, I love your choice of colours and your layout works perfectly. What a great start my lovely.
I am determined to do this challenge too and have a dictionary all ready, not planning on full out 'altering' but just doing it as an altered book journal style!!
Huge hugs x x x x

This is just gorgeous BJ! I love the idea of your theme. I started a 'celebration' A to Z a couple of years ago but never finished it. I managed to find all the 'words' I needed for it so its possible my lovely. HUGS xxx

Very pretty! Seems like you'll really be able to use your binding machine!
I don't think I am going to do the Feb. challenge. The daily one in Nov. just about burned me out, I was too busy.
I am doing a once a month challenge on SplitcoastStampers. I am doing an 8.5" x 11" page in a spiral bound journal. I will post my first page tomorrow. (And a couple wedding pictures from my sister's wedding on the 29th!)
Off to see more of what you've been creating!
