About Me

My photo
Hi, Welcome to my Blog. I'm an eclectic kind of crafter delving into many pots. I am just about managing to keep up my Scrapbooking Diary (usually about 6 months behind), plus any cards as required. I have a new found love of Watercolour and Bible Journaling plus recently Faith/Art Journaling too. I've challenged myself to make an art journal page a day for this my 60th year. Previously I've also dabbled in ATCs, Tags, Altered Books, Mixed Media, Décopatch, Knitting, Crochet, and Embroidery amongst other things. I live in Surrey, UK with my husband, our son has left home now. For exercise I usually play Badminton and go Ballroom and Latin Dancing. I also like walking/Geocaching and sometimes do a bit of Bouncing on my Rebounder (mini trampoline). I have been learning to play the harp for the past 10yrs. I am now officially retired. I am a born again Christian, currently worshiping at my local Vineyard Church.

Mildred and Martha

I was so taken by the canvas workshop by Neil I just had to have a go myself. I didn't have any canvas but did make a card, then decided to reproduce it in my Art journal. I really need some "sayings" stamps and wonder if anyone has any recommendations. I'm still amazed as to how the Tim Holtz reindeer dies can make such cool birds. Thanks Neil.

Hi there
That looks great; I always enjoy it when people are inspired enough by stuff I've shared on my blog to have a go!

WOW BJ, you are truly into all things T!M. I saw one on Neil's blog, too. Very colorful and creative the way T!M makes use of his dies.

I would like to suggest that you create one of your tags in EACH signature, rather than placing them side by side, as I showed in the tutorial. I'm all about breaking rules. Then each tag would encompass ONE season. And I KNOW you will decorate the pages well. You may even decide not to use tags, but something depicting each season instead.

Speaking about breaking rules, I didn't make myself clear when I gave instructions for the Linky thing. I hope I did a better job of clearing up the confusion this week. Believe me, you were NOT alone. Yes, your Lesson 3 should be posted this week. And you may post the link again. I'm sure some people may not have seen it.

Your gesso page can go anywhere in the book. Choose a season and put it there. I somehow suspect your book is too thin (doesn't have enough pages in it), and that's why I suggested a book of about 300 pages to begin with.

Yes, ATG is a tape gun. I think it's made by 3M. I know Julia keeps one on her desk. It's big and you can't miss it! When it's standing upright, I think it looks like a phallic symbol (please ignore or delete if this statement offends)!!

No worries! Glad you managed to pick some up! I do like that shop, I've picked up some pretty useful stuff from there and often pop in when in town!

Thanks for your kind wishes, sadly my life is a bit 'upside down' at the moment, the 'joys' of a divorce and house sale I suppose ... *sighs*

I plan on making a start on my altered book tomorrow actually, I've just been so busy with other 'stuff' that I haven't had the chance to do anything with it yet. I AM looking forward to learning about this project, because if I'm lucky with a place at College this term then I want to take it in for my Art lecturers to see! It'll be REALLY interesting!

I LOVE that canvas and think it was such a clever idea to turn reindeer into birds!! It's really fun and funky looking and put a smile on my face! :D

Thanks for sharing,

Take care

I just love this. I always thought that reindeer looked silly in that pose. He makes a better ostrich!
