About Me

My photo
Hi, Welcome to my Blog. I'm an eclectic kind of crafter delving into many pots. I am just about managing to keep up my Scrapbooking Diary (usually about 6 months behind), plus any cards as required. I have a new found love of Watercolour and Bible Journaling plus recently Faith/Art Journaling too. I've challenged myself to make an art journal page a day for this my 60th year. Previously I've also dabbled in ATCs, Tags, Altered Books, Mixed Media, Décopatch, Knitting, Crochet, and Embroidery amongst other things. I live in Surrey, UK with my husband, our son has left home now. For exercise I usually play Badminton and go Ballroom and Latin Dancing. I also like walking/Geocaching and sometimes do a bit of Bouncing on my Rebounder (mini trampoline). I have been learning to play the harp for the past 10yrs. I am now officially retired. I am a born again Christian, currently worshiping at my local Vineyard Church.

Altered Book - Lesson 10 - PINK!

Just had the urge to do something PINK! I have been smelling the sweet scent of the flowers everywhere at present and thought a page on Roses would fit the bill for the Summer section of my Altered Book. (I dream away from the previous Olympic page!) I could only find one pair of rose pictures, so had to use other pink flowers aswell. Fortunately I found Sweet Peas and Stock, hmmmm the scent of those is divine.  No fresias, but they don't really come in pink! (I do have 2 pots of them flowering in my garden at the moment). Oh and the Orchids, yes my Christmas Orchid has decided to flower again and it only just lost its last flower from Christmas, it is gorgeous so I have snuck a photo of that in too.

Oh and on the Altered Book front, I even remembered to use "dry"  (Pritt) glue for the magazine pictures - horrah! I gessoed the pages (went to badminton!!) then inked with my new Summer Distress "Picked Raspberry" which I also stamped the flower boarder with. I (Pinflair) glued the embroidered flowers in place and popped a few dabs of Frosted Lace glitter glue inbetween the stamped boarder too. Now I need to comtemplate the "current " AB lesson! BJ

I can tell what type of glue is your favorite. I'm glad to read that the magazine images didn't get all rippled like many of my pages did. Yours are fantastic. I also adore those embroidered flowers you added to the page. They were the perfect embellishments.

Sorry I've been gone. My computer took a turn for the worse, then I left town for the holiday. Not a good time to leave, I know.
