About Me

My photo
Hi, Welcome to my Blog. I'm an eclectic kind of crafter delving into many pots. I am just about managing to keep up my Scrapbooking Diary (usually about 6 months behind), plus any cards as required. I have a new found love of watercolour and Bible Journaling plus recently Junk Journaling too. Previously I've also dabbled in ATCs, Tags, Altered Books, Mixed Media, Art Journaling, Décopatch, Knitting, Crochet, and Embroidery amongst other things. I live in Surrey, UK with my husband, our son has left home now. For exercise I usually play Badminton and go Ballroom and Latin Dancing, but am plagued by a bad back. I like walking which I couple with Geocaching and sometimes Bouncing on my Rebounder (mini trampoline). I guess I am officially retired now. I am a born again Christian, currently worshiping at my local Vineyard Church.

Summer of Colour - Week 2

Another set of colours to use this week over on the Summer of Colour Challenge. Again I am doing a flap in my DLP.

I seem to have adopted an "embossing" theme for the challenge this year. This week I used card in the 2 main colours of Coral and Teal. I embossed this with a plastic stencil in my Cuttlebug but the impression wasn't that great, really ought to have tried again with a different sandwich but didn't wish to spoil my stencil. Could also have made the impression deeper by hand but forgot!

Anyway, I proceeded to cover the card join with a piece of White (the Smudge, Splash, Pop colour) lace and hand painted the raised parts of the pattern also in white. I added a few spots of white glitter to the flowers too.

Your piece makes me think of inside and outside a garden fence. Love how airy it looks.

Lovely artwork, I really like the way you have used the white for the birds and flowers and the white lace adds that something a bit different.

Oh BJ, this is stunning. I really like your "dry" embossing. Yep, you seem to be on an embossing kick. I want to know how you got that white smudged on so perfectly. I would have been all over the place, but yours is incredible. Love it!!

Very gorgeous BJ. Very clever. Awesome use of a fine brush for the painting bits. I was just thinking, 'I don't have a theme' as others seem to have adopted, either deliberately, or accidentally, and then I reemembered I do. The sea, beach, etc, haha. Maybe I'm trying to forget the unfortunate boat of last time, haha :D

great use of the colors. I am a member of DLP but haven't done much. I keep saying I am going to do more but something comes along and knocks my out of the game. Vickie

So pretty and delicate - it almost has a kind of Japanese screen quality to it - do you know what I mean? It's lovely.
