About Me

My photo
Hi, Welcome to my Blog. I'm an eclectic kind of crafter delving into many pots. I am just about managing to keep up my Scrapbooking Diary (usually about 6 months behind), plus any cards as required. I have a new found love of watercolour and Bible Journaling plus recently Junk Journaling too. Previously I've also dabbled in ATCs, Tags, Altered Books, Mixed Media, Art Journaling, Décopatch, Knitting, Crochet, and Embroidery amongst other things. I live in Surrey, UK with my husband, our son has left home now. For exercise I usually play Badminton and go Ballroom and Latin Dancing, but am plagued by a bad back. I like walking which I couple with Geocaching and sometimes Bouncing on my Rebounder (mini trampoline). I guess I am officially retired now. I am a born again Christian, currently worshiping at my local Vineyard Church.

WOYWW #150 - Tools of the Trade

Ah yes - that day is here yet again and thanks to Julia we can have a peek into the workings of a crafter and their desks! Here is my trusty Cuttlebug which is quite happy to cut Sizzix Bigz dies, Quickutz, Nesties and the like. My Fiskars paper trimmer one of my first purchases all those years ago, along with my cutting mat. My glasses which I can't seem to do without these days! Oh and my green laptop with my Altered Book on top. My Cuttlebug and Laptop have to do a change of positions every time I need to do some diecutting.
I'm currently doing a scrapbook page and have actually made my own backing paper this time. Old Paper Stain to cover the white cardstock, inking and stamping a bit of grunge. It's geting there, still needs sticking down though. Thanks for stopping by, BJ.

Great looking desk. I love my Big Shot and just recently bought the electronic one from Tim Holtz but have yet to take it out of the box. I bought it cause it was such a good deal at $150 and will eventually start using it. Have a great week. Vickie #32

HI BJ, many thanks for stopping by my blog, it really is appreciated. You asked about a RUB? It is an abbreviation for a 'Really Useful Box', often sold in various craft outlets :)

Your scrapbook page looks great!! Good to hear you are managing to cut Sissix dies in it, I am singularly unsuccessful, no matter what I try. Nesties always worked fine though, it's just the TH dies I can't seem to work....

Have a great week and enjoy this special WOYWW!

Your background is beautiful and makes a great base for the page. I have a Cuttlebug as well and the only thing I don't like about it is the size of the embossing folders - just not big enough for a card front - may treat myself to a Big Shot soon.

That page looks great and glad to find another cuttlebug fan Jacqui #119 Scor tape is a strong double sided adhesive tape that comes in a variety of widths from 1/4". It is like red line tape but without the annoying red plastic backing that sticks to everything including your hands - Oyster Stamps stock it as do Crafts U Love but I tend to get mine from USA via Ebay - even with postage it is cheaper - I just look for the cheapest - its called Sookwang too!!

Hi BJ, tried to pm you but can't find your email deets anywhere, so will just use this. Thanks for the return visit.... I tried to use 2 B plates on my cuttlebug with TH tattered florals and they just don't cut through properly. I have tried with card stock, paper, a shim, it just does not work. It may be this particular die (I only have one other TH which I have not tried recently), but last time I tried that one it did not work either. I love the TH dies but don't dare to purchase anymore until I either can manage with the bug or invest in a Bigshot. Thanks so much for your offer to help!!
