About Me

My photo
Hi, Welcome to my Blog. I'm an eclectic kind of crafter delving into many pots. I am just about managing to keep up my Scrapbooking Diary (usually about 6 months behind), plus any cards as required. I have a new found love of Watercolour and Bible Journaling plus recently Faith/Art Journaling too. I've challenged myself to make an art journal page a day for this my 60th year. Previously I've also dabbled in ATCs, Tags, Altered Books, Mixed Media, Décopatch, Knitting, Crochet, and Embroidery amongst other things. I live in Surrey, UK with my husband, our son has left home now. For exercise I usually play Badminton and go Ballroom and Latin Dancing. I also like walking/Geocaching and sometimes do a bit of Bouncing on my Rebounder (mini trampoline). I have been learning to play the harp for the past 10yrs. I am now officially retired. I am a born again Christian, currently worshiping at my local Vineyard Church.

Dec the Halls

I received this lovely felt fox banner from a friend.

He is definitely deccing the hall along with one of my crocheted robins.

My newly décopatched reindeer is posing on my tree.

Reindeer and Scrapping

Managed to get back into my scrapbooking. I had the last lot of photos printed yonks ago, for April through to August this year.

Back in April/May time I did my first FREE on-line course with Futurelearn - Kitchen Chemistry, this is some of what I got up to.

I took a couple of photos of my harp in the garden in May.

The caterpillar was seen in August but fitted on this page.

Then there's my desk yesterday after raiding Hobby Craft.

I love a bit of décopatch to while away the time so I just had to cover him today.

I didn't have any "natural" type papers so just went with my favourite.

I might add a few adornments but for now he is drying.

Poinsettia

I used my poinsettia die for my last craft club this year, then I just had to give it a go with a non Christmas colour and created a sunflower!

DLP

My Documented Life Project (DLP) book is now nearly full.

Can't say I followed all the DLP prompts, I gave up on most yearly challenges back in May/June time, but I have managed to fill my little diary one way or another.

I have mainly made the last few pages like little Christmas Cards of designs I did this year.
However I have followed the Journal 52 prompt of "Sparkle and Shine" this week.

Dozen Christmas Cards

Thought I better make some Christmas cards!

I started with the design I made for craft class last week, I also pondered the cards the ladies had made with the same pieces but all different.

I came up with a slightly different design which was easily reproducible and not too bulky.

I used some old Christmas Cracker tubes for the baubles. Always a considered buy as I look to see if I'll be able to use them after the day.

I went with peel-offs instead of die cut words, as I seem to have quite a few left and it is much quicker.

Also sticky backed holographic ribbon as a border and the tops of the baubles. I didn't really wish to make 24 bows and they are often too bulky for standard postage here in the UK.

Still it took quite some time to make all 12.

I also made a page for my DLP too. Think I need a lie down!

Ashtead Challenge

The Ashtead Card Making and Craft Club year long challenge is coming to an end this week.

Did I have the minimum of 10 A4 pages completed?
Simple Answer NO!

So I finished up my day yesterday getting inky fingers creating.

A page to the Seasons
A page using the initial of my surname. And a page of a never ending line.

Here's the cover of my Challenge folder too. I used various items I have made/used throughout the year.

Papercrafting At Last

OK so my initial reason was to prep for my craft club tomorrow, but all the same, I spent a very happy day crafting (and not a crochet hook in sight!)

I made up kits for the ladies to make 3 Christmas cards on the theme of Baubles.

I got my inspiration from "Simply Cards and Papercraft" magazine, plus their freebie Bauble Die.

As I went along my cards deviated from the inspiration card somewhat.

Mine are on the left by the way.

Even More Crochet

Some more Birdies.

A little Bear, which looks decidedly like a mouse!

And the beginnings of a Cardigan.

So much for my papercrafting!

Light of the World

Thought it best to make it plain where I stand on today of all days.

And the light shineth in darkness; and the darkness comprehended it not.

John 1:5 (KJV)
