About Me

My photo
Hi, Welcome to my Blog. I'm an eclectic kind of crafter delving into many pots. I am just about managing to keep up my Scrapbooking Diary (usually about 6 months behind), plus any cards as required. I have a new found love of Watercolour and Bible Journaling plus recently Faith/Art Journaling too. I've challenged myself to make an art journal page a day for this my 60th year. Previously I've also dabbled in ATCs, Tags, Altered Books, Mixed Media, Décopatch, Knitting, Crochet, and Embroidery amongst other things. I live in Surrey, UK with my husband, our son has left home now. For exercise I usually play Badminton and go Ballroom and Latin Dancing. I also like walking/Geocaching and sometimes do a bit of Bouncing on my Rebounder (mini trampoline). I have been learning to play the harp for the past 10yrs. I am now officially retired. I am a born again Christian, currently worshiping at my local Vineyard Church.

Even More Scrapping

The end of my 10th album. As I have 30 pages in each album and there are 2 layouts per page, that's some 600 layouts!!

Of course some geocaching in Merstham.

There was a matching phone box top the other side of the drive and I believe the drive goes to a place where phone boxes go after use (as seen from the train by a friend)

Then the start of my 11th album with the Crochet Classes I did last year.

Just a snippet of the projects we covered in the 6 weeks.

Lastly the Electrify Course from Futurelearn and
my husband doing the Palace to Palace Bike ride.

And if I am in October of last year, I have nearly caught up - horrah!

Happy Scrapper

Just finished scrapping my current set of prints to find I only had one side left in my current album of 60 layouts! I have since sorted out my new album, kindly given to me by a crafty friend, and ordered a further 113 prints which will take me from the end of September last year to earlier this month. So nearly up to date, but as life carries on so does the scrapping. A woman's work........and all that!

So here are my latest:-

Some more geocaching, with some caches hidden in unusual receptacles. There is a close-up of my new diecut which I used mirrored and added my wheatsheaf cut in purple as the lavender flower! Love it when a die can be used in different ways. Original photo here.

Then there is Cane Hill, an old abandoned Victorian Asylum, which was the start of the cult of Urban Exploring in the 90's. Although now most of the buildings have been demolished, except the chapel and water tower which hopefully will be incorporated in a new development but as it is on the green belt it has been dormant for decades now, pending planning agreements. Original photos here.

Lastly, some scouting and even more geocaching. Don't mention puzzle caches - not our favourite to work out but the walk was great and done directly from home to places we'd never explored before. Some original photos here.

Oh and the 50th birthday card I did for my friend, and the 16th for my son, well you have to include those don't you?

How Old?

It was my Mum's birthday this week so I made her a card, I wonder how old she is?

My Journal for January

My small Dylusions "Take Me Deeper" journal is still teetering on the brink of getting started. I have added to the inside/outter cover using my new die and some flowers kindly given to me today in my craft club.

I have sectioned the journal into 12 (blue post-its) so I can do a calendar page each month and the weekly devotionals as and when in the pages in between.

I have done my January calendar page using some freebie star stamps from a magazine before Christmas. I have added the "Transform" theme from the tab printable plus a couple of dictionary/thesaurus definitions.

The inside/inner cover & first page I have devoted to my "Logos 365" word JOY. I gessoed the inside of the cover as it was grey then painted both with distress paint.

I have added my music to "The Ode to Joy" by Beethoven, reduced via the photocopier.

Plus the words to the Hymn of Joy which is set to this music. Also the words to the 2nd verse of "Joy to the World" which is based on Psalm 98. In fact I think they both are based on this psalm.

I still have the first 2 weeks of devotionals to get done. I have printed out the verses from the website but that is as far as I have got.

JOY!

I bought the small Dyan Reaveley Journal some time ago and I guess I have been saving it "for such a time as this" (Esther 4:14).

I'm about to embark on some year long journaling challenges from the "His Kingdom Come" site. Namely "Logos 365" where you chose a word for the year, and "Take Me Deeper" which is a weekly devotional.

I have chosen JOY for my word and have started collecting bits and pieces for the word, including the lyrics to the song, "Joy to the World!" which I can play on my harp, and is based on Psalm 98. Plus I have nearly mastered Beethoven's "Ode to Joy" on my harp as well. Oh Joy!

I'm on my way...

Getting Some Scrapping Done!

Looks like I have managed  quite a few scrap pages over the Christmas Break so far and still a few more days to go.

A July Birthday and the garden. The Loom Band Craze and the Start of the Summer of Geocaching... Plus my husband and a mate's bike ride to Brighton and back.
