.Morning everyone, thanks to those who visited my desk last week, on the wonderful journey of WOYWW. Here's a treat this week, an actual messy desk! Have to admit I am itching to tidy it up and pick the glue off my fingers but managed a photo first. Typically after, applying 2 coats of gesso to my latest Altered Book pages but not deciding what colour to paint the background, I had a eureka moment and decided to make it a patchwork with green papers! Had already planned the ribbons to represent a Maypole and the various magazine pictures and old stamps of May nature. Think it still needs something, but I'm not sure what, any suggestions?
I have just finished my latest scrapbook page too of my photos of Mothering Sunday where I got a cake as they had forgotten to get me one for my birthday the previous month! It is hanging on my hanger. The little easel holds my ATCs made for various SWAPs so can't divulge those yet I'm afraid.
Here's a couple of close-ups. Can you spot Roudolph wearing my WOYWW badge? And you get a good view of my special Distress Ink Shelf too.

Only Me - one who doesn't show her desk but snoops on the desks of others!
What about adding some doodled stitching to your page? As it is patchwork it would add some extra depth to the design. You could draw just one stitch or a small variety. Very therapeutic - not suggesting you need therapy of course!!!
Love the page so far. Great cake pictures too.

Hi BJ I just spotted the fab hangar your layout is on! It is a beautiful way to store your layouts finished or awaiting inspiration. I might have to pinch that idea if you don't mind! Happy WOYWW Helen 50
Lots of fabulous stuff going on.

Perhaps some stickles, as well as stitches, to highlight some of the stamps. Very nice!
I found him, hiding away there! Love that maypole idea. Anne #2
Your desk doesn't look messy at all, just interesting and well loved. Thanks for visiting me.

Lovely pages and a woman after my own heart (I'm not naturally a 'messy' crafter) - Jacqui #101
Just wish I could be so organised! Great pages BJ.
Love the patchworked page of green. It is very springlike and the maypole ribbons are so festive. I think it looks fab as is!

I love your mothers day LO, how sweet of them...it's so nice the children enjoy making a fuss of you. Your AB is coming on so well, I love the patchwork effect you've got...and no, I have idea because I can't see the page is lacking at all!!
The green patchwork worked really well! I bet you are clean and tidy by now LOL. Thanks for stopping by, Cindy #168
Hi BJ, me again - thanks for your lovely comment on my blog about my journal pages. Glad you like them!

Thanks for a peek at your desk. :) I get those itches, too. Problem is, I only listen to them about once every 3 or 4 months. hahaha :)

I like a busy desk like this, much better than my boring one. I know what you mean, I like to pick up too though.
Hi BJ, thanks for paying me a visit, love your altered book, the patchwork is very affective, I also like your page with the painted wisteria, that is lovely. Liking your little set of drawers and the pretty flower garland. I have labelled my DI, but sticking a colour swatch on is even better, (don't know why I didn't think of that 'der') I will do that on the other side.
Happy crafting
Hugs

I like your altered page with the postage stamps on it. I collected them as a kid and always hate to toss pretty ones, but never do anything with them. Happy WOYWW from Laura #186 (Thanks for visiting my blog.)
Hiya, just popping in to visit as it's been a while! I've missed seeing what everyone's been up to! Happy WOYWW and I hope you have a good week.

I'm loving your journal pages, great crafty desk too. Michelle x #177
Sorry I missed last Wed. but it was too hectic to even try! lol I love, love, love the way you hang up a LO on those clips, how are they attached to the shelf? That's so cute! And yes, I spy little rudolf and his WOYWW badge! waving hi from the hills of North Carolina :)
Great May Pole! Postage stamps are so beautiful, and this is a wonderful way to use them in art!
BJ, I bet you wondered what happened to me. I had a power outage and couldn't get on the computer until just now. I really like the Maypole. It is perfect for your Spring pages. I like how you mixed real postage stamps and small images together. Very clever use of these, as well as the green papers. I agree you could add something to this page, but for the life of me, I can't think what it is. Maybe a pole down the center of the two pages would be what is needed. And yes, I saw the badge (grin).
Two lovely pages BJ, I love the Maypole page particularly. The use of the green images is very effective. The complimentary coloured red lines stand out the best.
You are doing a great job on your pages. The colours are especially vibrant.
