About Me

My photo
Hi, Welcome to my Blog. I'm an eclectic kind of crafter delving into many pots. I am just about managing to keep up my Scrapbooking Diary (usually about 6 months behind), plus any cards as required. I have a new found love of Watercolour and Bible Journaling plus recently Faith/Art Journaling too. I've challenged myself to make an art journal page a day for this my 60th year. Previously I've also dabbled in ATCs, Tags, Altered Books, Mixed Media, Décopatch, Knitting, Crochet, and Embroidery amongst other things. I live in Surrey, UK with my husband, our son has left home now. For exercise I usually play Badminton and go Ballroom and Latin Dancing. I also like walking/Geocaching and sometimes do a bit of Bouncing on my Rebounder (mini trampoline). I have been learning to play the harp for the past 10yrs. I am now officially retired. I am a born again Christian, currently worshiping at my local Vineyard Church.

WOYWW #153

.Morning everyone, thanks to those who visited my desk last week, on the wonderful journey of WOYWW. Here's a treat this week, an actual messy desk! Have to admit I am itching to tidy it up and pick the glue off my fingers but managed a photo first. Typically after, applying 2 coats of gesso to my latest Altered Book pages but not deciding what colour to paint the background, I had a eureka moment and decided to make it a patchwork with green papers! Had already planned the ribbons to represent a Maypole and the various magazine pictures and old stamps of May nature. Think it still needs something, but I'm not sure what, any suggestions?

I have just finished my latest scrapbook page too of my photos of Mothering Sunday where I got a cake as they had forgotten to get me one for my birthday the previous month! It is hanging on my hanger. The little easel holds my ATCs made for various SWAPs so can't divulge those yet I'm afraid.

Here's a couple of close-ups. Can you spot Roudolph wearing my WOYWW badge? And you get a good view of my special Distress Ink Shelf too.

Only Me - one who doesn't show her desk but snoops on the desks of others!

What about adding some doodled stitching to your page? As it is patchwork it would add some extra depth to the design. You could draw just one stitch or a small variety. Very therapeutic - not suggesting you need therapy of course!!!

Love the page so far. Great cake pictures too.

Hi BJ I just spotted the fab hangar your layout is on! It is a beautiful way to store your layouts finished or awaiting inspiration. I might have to pinch that idea if you don't mind! Happy WOYWW Helen 50

Perhaps some stickles, as well as stitches, to highlight some of the stamps. Very nice!

Thanks for a peek at your desk. :) I get those itches, too. Problem is, I only listen to them about once every 3 or 4 months. hahaha :)

I like a busy desk like this, much better than my boring one. I know what you mean, I like to pick up too though.

Hi BJ, thanks for paying me a visit, love your altered book, the patchwork is very affective, I also like your page with the painted wisteria, that is lovely. Liking your little set of drawers and the pretty flower garland. I have labelled my DI, but sticking a colour swatch on is even better, (don't know why I didn't think of that 'der') I will do that on the other side.
Happy crafting

I like your altered page with the postage stamps on it. I collected them as a kid and always hate to toss pretty ones, but never do anything with them. Happy WOYWW from Laura #186 (Thanks for visiting my blog.)

Great May Pole! Postage stamps are so beautiful, and this is a wonderful way to use them in art!

BJ, I bet you wondered what happened to me. I had a power outage and couldn't get on the computer until just now. I really like the Maypole. It is perfect for your Spring pages. I like how you mixed real postage stamps and small images together. Very clever use of these, as well as the green papers. I agree you could add something to this page, but for the life of me, I can't think what it is. Maybe a pole down the center of the two pages would be what is needed. And yes, I saw the badge (grin).

Two lovely pages BJ, I love the Maypole page particularly. The use of the green images is very effective. The complimentary coloured red lines stand out the best.
