About Me

My photo
Hi, Welcome to my Blog. I'm an eclectic kind of crafter delving into many pots. I am just about managing to keep up my Scrapbooking Diary (usually about 6 months behind), plus any cards as required. I have a new found love of Watercolour and Bible Journaling plus recently Faith/Art Journaling too. I've challenged myself to make an art journal page a day for this my 60th year. Previously I've also dabbled in ATCs, Tags, Altered Books, Mixed Media, Décopatch, Knitting, Crochet, and Embroidery amongst other things. I live in Surrey, UK with my husband, our son has left home now. For exercise I usually play Badminton and go Ballroom and Latin Dancing. I also like walking/Geocaching and sometimes do a bit of Bouncing on my Rebounder (mini trampoline). I have been learning to play the harp for the past 10yrs. I am now officially retired. I am a born again Christian, currently worshiping at my local Vineyard Church.

Tim Holtz Workshop Adventure

The adventure started back in June when Tim's blog post popped up announcing the UK Workshop hosted by Personal Impressions! The line would be open on 1st July and after repeatedly trying from 9am I finally got through at 1pm! PHEW!

All booked now just the long wait. I suggested my husband take the day off work to drive me from down here in Surrey, up to Coventry and then he could do his beloved cycling whilst I swooned over all things crafty, he jumped at the thought of the former - LOL.

The day dawned quite a few times for me as I just couldn't sleep and soon we were on our way.

Thanks to WOYWW one kind lady called Kay (known on-line as Incy) offered to meet up with me there along with 4 of her friends. It was a pleasure to meet them, all lovely ladies, we had a blast.

I got a photo with Mario first, soon followed by Tim himself and then Dyan, who was also there. I got my Book I and apron signed and soon it was down to business.

What a roller coaster, all that inking and stencilling and adorning of the tag pages with loads of ideaology products to make a super little tag book bound with the new ruler, nuts and bolts kit.

Must admit I was flagging towards the end of the 3 1/2 hours, I had an almighty headache and one of the organisers, Jayne, found me a "4head" to use and that eased it, I am indebt to her.

Soon it was time to leave and not only did we get the apron, but Book II all signed plus all the products on the table, including a distress pad, stain, paint, 3 pens (my first ever), 8 tiny stamps and acrylic block, a stencil, chit-chat, glossy accents, and 2 tissue tape reels. And then a workshop only messenger bag to put it all in. How brilliant was that?

Personal Impressions even gave us a Craft Scrubbie too as our fingers were in a right state by the end - LOL.

A great day was had by all and thanks to Tim, Mario, Dyan and the gang and to Jayne and her gang for organising such a wonderful event. Also to Kay and her friends for being so inviting.

Hoping Tim's first venture into international workshops has encouraged him to have more,
let's hope, let's dream, let's imagine.

Despite the headache, it sounds like it was one of those days you will never forget. Of all the goodies you got, I think I like the stencil best. Memories, photos, and goodies to keep, all made for a perfect day, I'm sure.

Oh my gosh! It looks like wonderful times were had by all. I understand about the flagging after 3+ hours. You'd think crafting all day would be therapeutic and it may be, but it is also exhausting!
