About Me

My photo
Hi, Welcome to my Blog. I'm an eclectic kind of crafter delving into many pots. I am just about managing to keep up my Scrapbooking Diary (usually about 6 months behind), plus any cards as required. I have a new found love of watercolour and Bible Journaling plus recently Junk Journaling too. Previously I've also dabbled in ATCs, Tags, Altered Books, Mixed Media, Art Journaling, Décopatch, Knitting, Crochet, and Embroidery amongst other things. I live in Surrey, UK with my husband, our son has left home now. For exercise I usually play Badminton and go Ballroom and Latin Dancing, but am plagued by a bad back. I like walking which I couple with Geocaching and sometimes Bouncing on my Rebounder (mini trampoline). I guess I am officially retired now. I am a born again Christian, currently worshiping at my local Vineyard Church.

An Attitude of Gratitude #01

Bernice is setting the challenge of doing a Gratitude Journal daily throughout November. I have got off to a good start but who knows if I can keep up.

I was taken by the Scripture for today which is from Psalms 100:4 "Enter His gates with thanksgiving and His courts with praise;" All I could think of were some big old gates so I googled for an image and just went from there.

The technique today was to use a colour you didn't like or didn't use often. I couldn't think of the former and had to do a survey of my last couple of scrapbook albums (71 pages) to see what I DID use. Here are my results:-

23 - Blue & Green
12 - Red
11 - Brown
10 - Pink
  9 - Purple & Yellow
  5 - Orange
  2 - Black, White & Grey.

You can tell I live in a male dominated household can't you. Although I have been bringing Purple and Pink in wherever possible. But, oh dear I was left with Black, White & Grey! OK so I squeezed in a bit of Yellowy/Orange too, couldn't help myself.

Love the gates! That was something I was thinking about too but went in another direction. I love that you made the gates open with a hidden message. Great job!

This is one of my favourite Scriptures, BJ. I love what you've done with the opening gates! I have been thinking of introducing some moving parts into my art journal pages. I have made some pop-up and mechanical cards in the past and love what you can do with these techniques, and it would be fun to introduce them into the world of art journals.

You are doing really well with your daily challenge, and I'm really enjoying seeing what you come up with as I work backwards through your blog!
