Our theme today on "An Attitude of Gratitude" is "My Neighbouhood", and the technique to use a map. I went straight to my old map book only to find I had already cut out our area for my Altered Book! So I decided to paint my own.
It is rather stylised but I think you'll get the gist; Grey > Roads, Clay > Built-up Areas and Green > Woods and Fields. I managed to get a couple of cheap stencils today in town (no craft shops sadly) so have used them for the ivy and swirls. A few diecuts and a mask of a compass to finish off.
Have to say I was rather inspired by Amanda's page of her walk to her Grandma's house.

I love it. If you have a stationers nearby, plastic alphabet and number stencils are always useful.
