About Me

My photo
Hi, Welcome to my Blog. I'm an eclectic kind of crafter delving into many pots. I am just about managing to keep up my Scrapbooking Diary (usually about 6 months behind), plus any cards as required. I have a new found love of Watercolour and Bible Journaling plus recently Faith/Art Journaling too. I've challenged myself to make an art journal page a day for this my 60th year. Previously I've also dabbled in ATCs, Tags, Altered Books, Mixed Media, Décopatch, Knitting, Crochet, and Embroidery amongst other things. I live in Surrey, UK with my husband, our son has left home now. For exercise I usually play Badminton and go Ballroom and Latin Dancing. I also like walking/Geocaching and sometimes do a bit of Bouncing on my Rebounder (mini trampoline). I have been learning to play the harp for the past 10yrs. I am now officially retired. I am a born again Christian, currently worshiping at my local Vineyard Church.

WOYWW #179 - Gratitude Journal

Happy WOYWW to one and all as we jolly on through November. I have taken the November Daily Challenge over at the "An Attitude of Gratitude" blog of doing an Art Journal page every day. I am managing to keep up thus far!

I also managed to fit in making 18 Christmas cards, how scary is that? I used up some toppers sent to me by a friend and also some freebie 6x6 papers from a magazine last year. Getting there...

Wow you have been in full creative flow ! Great cards !
Thanks for stopping by & the advice on using those long dies in the Bug - I am cutting die side down - I'll try turning it blade side up like you suggest. I am using the A plate & a B below & a B above - but I tried card which just scored but didn't cut - then just paper to see if I could get a cut - even on that the detailed ones weren't cutting. I have heard that trying to cut though some kitchen foil can sharpen up the blades - what do you think ? Maybe I just need to give it a good few cuts to get it going ? Many thanks Ali #52

Since I'm getting jealous of all these folks who have holiday cards already started I guess I should stop being jealous and start actually doing things!!!!! Your cards are looking good!

OH, you have so many cards done now...I used to do 70 each year but i am paring back my list this year. DH retired and so all those that never exchange any sort of card (or Christmas cheer of any sort) are getting crossed off the list!!! teehee
Mainly cousins who are "too busy" I guess.

Thanks for the kind comments on my blog. I actually just started the die cut and stamped image cut out so that Little miss C would have things to colour and put the backing piece on while I was in hospital and recovering.
Then as i got her book full, I realized that it was a good idea in general. Sometimes i just don't have time to make a whole card...Soemtimes my mind isn't in to create a whole card...but this way I can grab an image and colour while i watch TV upstairs with DH...or grab an album to take to a girlfriends for a craft outing....
So....now I'm addicted to this method:)
It's a bit of a bonus that I couldn't turn the wheel of the Big Shot for the first 4 weeks...so I was still able to make some cards from what I had cut...Who would know that you use lower back muscles to roll a die thru the machine...I thought it was mainly forarm strength!

The gratitude journal sounds fun, love all your cards too!
the December daily is to create a page for each day in December, fun to document the December preparations!
I am busily trying to finish last years, just waiting for some photos I need to be delivered!

What lovely cards, BJ, good for you getting so many done and so many different variations. I have a Cuttlebug, too, and I noticed with interest that you're using that very long alphabet die of TH seemingly with the regular length B plates -- I didn't realize that was possible. (I've been coveting the die that makes the paper rosettes, but haven't yet coughed up the cash for extended B plates.) Happiest of WOYWWs (on Thursday) -- and thanks for the visit. ~ Laura #117

Your pages are gorgeous, BJ, and your cards too. Thanks for letting me know about the art journal challenge. I can only do a small amount at a time and could never keep up with a page a day! You are so productive and creative.

Glad you like my little book. My hubby is so clever at finding things he knows I would like! I see you have been linked to a previous WOYWW post - I'm not sure why this is happening - a couple of other people have mentioned it, but I have done one this week too.

Trying to keep up with all the lovely comments on my blog - I always try to reply to them before I publish them, so I don't get mixed up and leave someone out by mistake!

Happy belated WOYWW,

Thanks for popping by and visiting me, sorry I was not home, maybe next time, so help yourself to a cuppa and a biscuit and snoop around.

Well done on getting some cards made - I'm having an epic fail on that front. Not so much Mr Mojo having left the building as simply not having the energy or inclination... Hopefully that will change!

Thanks for stopping by - sorry I'm so late getting back to you...
