About Me

My photo
Hi, Welcome to my Blog. I'm an eclectic kind of crafter delving into many pots. I am just about managing to keep up my Scrapbooking Diary (usually about 6 months behind), plus any cards as required. I have a new found love of watercolour and Bible Journaling plus recently Junk Journaling too. Previously I've also dabbled in ATCs, Tags, Altered Books, Mixed Media, Art Journaling, Décopatch, Knitting, Crochet, and Embroidery amongst other things. I live in Surrey, UK with my husband, our son has left home now. For exercise I usually play Badminton and go Ballroom and Latin Dancing, but am plagued by a bad back. I like walking which I couple with Geocaching and sometimes Bouncing on my Rebounder (mini trampoline). I guess I am officially retired now. I am a born again Christian, currently worshiping at my local Vineyard Church.

WOYWW #214 - Too Hot!

Indeed - think I have been a bit stifled by the heat here in the UK so haven't done much crafting this week. What with that and the tennis!

So how did my desk get so messy?

Firstly let's say I managed to get a place on the one UK day Tim Holtz is here at the end of August. And here's my ticket to prove it.. BJ does happy dance....after 5 hours trying to get through on the phone too!

I managed to get into town this week and made it to The Works as I really liked the set of drawers I saw on a desk last week (thanks). Got a set and a star box too.

I did finish my cross stitch whilst watching the tennis. I went to craft club but wasn't really taken by the technique this month. I have torn out a couple of pictures from last week's Radio Times, and have my Alpha page pending plus decorated envelope swap ready to post. Oh and started on my dandelion pages for July in my journal.

Happy WOYWW to one and all and thanks to Julia our host.

Oh wow. I really like your dandelion pages. I saw them as I was getting ready to leave you a message. Truly beautiful, but quite green for July. My July is brown.

Thanks for the info on the Tube. You can tell I don't get out much (grin). However, in my defense, Endeavor doesn't take the tube, because he has that super beautiful red car.

As an aside, not sure if you watch Insp. Lewis, or what the schedule is there, but I saw what I THINK may have been the final episode of that series. It sure looked like they were calling it quits.

Thanks for dropping by earlier. Happy WOYWW from #2.

I saw those drawers too, but sadly our Works closed last year - like so many market towns, our high street is dying...

happy WOYWW and have a great week :)

AH!! That's why I've never heard of the tube before. Oxford is such a lovely place, at least in the Morse/Lewis shows. And the Endeavor series just started here on Sunday. Not sure when it started for you. I love it, as I did the first one they showed last year. I guess you saw that John Thaw's daughter is part of the Endeavor cast, too. What a great way to keep the series alive for all of us who grew up with Morse.

It has been hot, but your desk still looks so interesting. I remember you were a dancer, BJ, so I bet your happy dance about getting on the TH course was particularly expressive! I too love those dandelion pages - I know they can get out of control, but I just love those dandelion clocks, truly one of nature's wonders. Julie Ann #55

Hi BJ, I just love your dandelion page ... I do think the pretty flowers are just too unappreciated ... the greens and yellows are gorgeous. It's been a real bonanza week for you, the tennis, goodies from the Works and a ticket to Sir Timmy's workshop. What more could a woman ask for :)) Hope you have a good day. Elizabeth x #57

Congrats on the Tim ticket, that'll be fab. we want to see the pics, after! Metal shim is for my bug- some really intricate dies don't always cut through first time, have to turn them & try again. This shim is supposed to stop all that. hopefully.Pleased you got some of the drawers. My enabling wasn't in vain, lol.Have a great week, Hugs, Shaz xx #51

Hi BJ - I was in such a rush to get away this morning that I gave the wrong impression - we parents aren't allowed near those activities either, it just meant an even earlier than usual start. I've found it too hot for crafting too but with challenge deadlines you just have to brave it don't you? Your desk still looks a hive of activity, I'm intrigued by the card with numbers on... Thanks for your visit and I hope we all have a slightly cooler week! MMx #59

Tim is so nice you will enjoy his class. I sat for 3 hours and watched him demo at a show in Dalls. I then went and spent far too much money. he not only makes things look great but i even liked grunge.

Happy WOYWW very late!

Thanks for letting me know we made the wall of fame finally! I was beginning to wonder what I had to do!
Congrats to you too.
On comments - I have tried all three ways of comments appearing, and while one of them seemed to solve it at first it then became much worse. One of them didn't allow any comments at all, the other allowed comments at first, making me think it was fixed, then switched to only allowing comments if one had been left before, so no comments on new posts, and some clever person worked that one out and found a post they could comment on to tell me!
I tried to say that in the intro, because so many people helpfully suggest that I change it to fix it!
Blogger has other ideas!
