Good Morning all you WOYWWers. We are well into Autumn here in the UK now, lots of the leaves have fallen from the storms earlier in the week and there is a crisp chill in the air.
I've been away for a few days to Swansea to visit my Mum for my hubby to sort her computer out therefore not much in the way of crafting going on here.
I did get my Christmas present early though, a Google Nexus 7 tablet. Thought I needed to get to grips with technology as I only have a basic phone, and with the onset of requiring glasses I find anything on those too small.
My Mum bought me a Goople Play gift card so I could buy some APPs - didn't want to register my credit card in Google Wallet, so this was the ideal solution.
I acquired a few new threads and some lace ribbon from Mum's too (she used to have a wool shop and since closing it a few years back she has all the left over stock in her house!) I needed the beiges for my son's Explorers shirt.
I did do a page in my 12 months journal along with my November calendar page though.
Finally, I have performed surgery on my Corsa Doll to enable a battery change, he is back saying "C'mon" now, and just needs sewing up.
Oh and I think I'll pop along to the local knitting club today as they are knitting sheep for the Knitivity. I'll let you know how I get on next week.
About Me
- BJ
- Hi, Welcome to my Blog. I'm an eclectic kind of crafter delving into many pots. I am just about managing to keep up my Scrapbooking Diary (usually about 6 months behind), plus any cards as required. I have a new found love of Watercolour and Bible Journaling plus recently Faith/Art Journaling too. I've challenged myself to make an art journal page a day for this my 60th year. Previously I've also dabbled in ATCs, Tags, Altered Books, Mixed Media, Décopatch, Knitting, Crochet, and Embroidery amongst other things. I live in Surrey, UK with my husband, our son has left home now. For exercise I usually play Badminton and go Ballroom and Latin Dancing. I also like walking/Geocaching and sometimes do a bit of Bouncing on my Rebounder (mini trampoline). I have been learning to play the harp for the past 10yrs. I am now officially retired. I am a born again Christian, currently worshiping at my local Vineyard Church.

Hi BJ, Great calendar page - perfect colours for the onset of winter - there's quite a nip in the air this morning. Have fun with your Nexus - my Mum loves hers. MMx #41

Good luck with the knitting sheep!
What a nice gift from your mum, I understand about the eyes, it's very fustrating not being able to see properly esp as a crafter!

I love knitivities! My daughter used to work at a Garden Centre and one of the ladies always produced a beautiful knitted crib scene, she knitted the Royal Wedding too! Such skill! Good Luck with the sheep. Julie Ann xx #20
Happy early Christmas. We love our tablet, we only use the lap top for uni work now.

Hi BJ, finding some time to visit today ... it won't last long I'm sure. It must have been lovely to visit with your mum and how fab that she has some leftover stock for you to loot and plunder :) Love the verse on Autumn - read it with pleasure.
Thanks for sharing and I hope you have a good week. Elizabeth x #42
Hi BJ. Hubby bought himself a Nexus recently. Then I decided maybe I ought to have a tablet, so I got a different one. I have to admit, they were great on holiday, so many places have free wifi. And it meant I had enough books to read while we were away. I read so much, I need a suitcase full of books to last me! Still prefer to hold a real book though, lol. Have a great week, Hugs Shaz #56 xx
Enjoy your new toys. safe travel. Peg R #71

We don't do much leaf changing here but I'm tickled that one tree in our apartment complex always gets the beautiful fall reds. He's obviously an import. Great journal pages and such funky shapes for your calendar. Have fun with your new toy. I haven't embraced technology at all. I still don't even own a cell phone.
enjoy your new Tablet! I use mine mostly for crafting! Love your journal pages BJ!
Hugs, Robin #74

My brain conjured such a wonderful image with the idea of knitting sheep. I was imagining a sort of turn table that would sheer, spin and change sheep with a line of sheep all backed up. Your journals are beautiful.

I can't keep up with technology! My OH bought me a Kindle Fire for my birthday and I can just about navigate my way around that! I'm sure you'll have many happy hours with your tablet! Hugs. Pam#39
Hi BJ - oh technology - how I do envy thee - I am using a borrowed laptop since my old dell carked it a few months ago after 4 loyal years - but I just cannot decide what I should move on to next... am intending to upgrade in the boxing day sales so have time to investigate... Happy WOYWW - Mxx #57
