About Me

My photo
Hi, Welcome to my Blog. I'm an eclectic kind of crafter delving into many pots. I am just about managing to keep up my Scrapbooking Diary (usually about 6 months behind), plus any cards as required. I have a new found love of Watercolour and Bible Journaling plus recently Faith/Art Journaling too. I've challenged myself to make an art journal page a day for this my 60th year. Previously I've also dabbled in ATCs, Tags, Altered Books, Mixed Media, Décopatch, Knitting, Crochet, and Embroidery amongst other things. I live in Surrey, UK with my husband, our son has left home now. For exercise I usually play Badminton and go Ballroom and Latin Dancing. I also like walking/Geocaching and sometimes do a bit of Bouncing on my Rebounder (mini trampoline). I have been learning to play the harp for the past 10yrs. I am now officially retired. I am a born again Christian, currently worshiping at my local Vineyard Church.

The Cat That Got The Cream!

Oh did I have a fun time at the Ashtead Craft Club this month. The theme was diecuts and diecut negatives and I actually made up this card there which was a first since I started back in April of last year. I usually just cut lots of dies or make up toppers to assemble later.

I also took along some of my own white card to cut some dies too (I now have a flock of Humming Birds and Geese (for which I see Swans!) and one lady kindly brought in some other diecuts to share as well.

But the bit which really got me was the introduction of the membership challenge for the year. Obviously, having started mid-year last year I had missed this before so it was all new to me. They are doing a year long challenge based loosely on the book "Wreck this Journal" with theirs called  "Dec this Journal" as in decorate, or the DJ Challenge.

We each received a Kraft journal which we can decorate and inside were lots of A4 sheets and a bag of blank cards and bits and bobs.

We are tasked to decorate at least 10 A4 sheets using the 16 prompts on the intro sheet or the 5 prompts which will be given through the course of the year (these 5 can be used as stand alone challenges too)

Well you just have to say I was like the cat who'd got the cream.

Add this to the following day's surprise package from Dawn. Two super new 12x12 scrapbooks and papers and embellies looking for new homes. Can life get much better?

Wow, lots going on in your art world now. How awesome, and that card is gorgeous. Of course, I can tell you are on top of the world, especially with that unexpected gift from Dawn. She's such a sweetie, too.

And now I get to watch yet another project take shape. Not sure when you'll find time, but I know you will meet all the deadlines. I REALLY like that about you.
