About Me

My photo
Hi, Welcome to my Blog. I'm a lapsed crafter of late but still managing my diary Scrapbooking, plus cards as required. Previously I've also dabbled in ATCs, Tags, Altered Books, Art Journaling, Décopatch, Knitting, Crochet, and Embroidery amongst other things. I live in Surrey, UK with my husband and son. For exercise I usually play Badminton and go Ballroom and Latin Dancing, not really got back to the latter since the pandemic. I like walking which I couple with Geocaching and sometimes Bouncing on my Rebounder (mini trampoline). I am a Christian.

Summer Of Colour - Week 1

Horrah the Summer or Colour has begun. This year we have Smudge, Splash & Pop, where you make a piece using the first 2 colours and highlight with the third. Week 1's colours are Aqua Blue, Yellow & Hot Pink. I'll be adding weekly pages to my DLP diary this year.

This week I used a dry embossed background. I coloured the raised flowers with Versa Colour Canary Yellow ink (direct to paper) and clear heat embossed them. I coloured and clear embossed the accent circles in Distress Picked Raspberry Pink. I coloured the background in Distress Peacock Feathers, water spotted it and spritzed with some Distress Stormy Sky. Finally I added some Hot Pink flock to the flower centres.

Very nice and great use of the colors. I like any flowers that are daisy-like. I'd rather have a handful of wild daisies than a dozen roses.

I have never tried embossing. I am more of a painter, but I love to see how people create their masterpieces. Mixed media is fascinating.

I am in awe of your embossing folder and the treatment. Loved how you showed us how you made this. You are so good at wet embossing, too. I can't seem to get rid of little bits of excess, but yours is PERFECT.
