About Me

My photo
Hi, Welcome to my Blog. I'm an eclectic kind of crafter delving into many pots. I am just about managing to keep up my Scrapbooking Diary (usually about 6 months behind), plus any cards as required. I have a new found love of watercolour and Bible Journaling plus recently Junk Journaling too. Previously I've also dabbled in ATCs, Tags, Altered Books, Mixed Media, Art Journaling, Décopatch, Knitting, Crochet, and Embroidery amongst other things. I live in Surrey, UK with my husband, our son has left home now. For exercise I usually play Badminton and go Ballroom and Latin Dancing, but am plagued by a bad back. I like walking which I couple with Geocaching and sometimes Bouncing on my Rebounder (mini trampoline). I guess I am officially retired now. I am a born again Christian, currently worshiping at my local Vineyard Church.

Altered Book - Valentine Page

Here's my Valentine page in my altered book whilst following Elizabeth's wonderful "free" course. It isn't any particular lesson but the big hearts are sort of pockets, as I have only stuck the pointy sides. I slipped up a bit by putting mulberry paper behind them though. Used my new WORDPLAY die for the lettering.

You are doing well with your book - I'm way behind and it would take me too long to catch up now so I'm saving the project for a really rainy day. The letters from that die are lovely - well worth the trouble perhaps. Elizabeth

I was glad to read you may have figured out how to use that die. Of course, if it were me, I'd have sent it back. Now you know why I never buy anything that doesn't come from a brick and mortar store.

As for next week, if you have a piece of heavy cardstock or scrapbook paper (heavy would be better), you can get by with ONE page, and whatever is on the other side can have already been decorated. Just remember that your decorated edge will show on both sides of the page, so plan wisely when you choose that one page. The idea is to glue two pages together or alternately glue a sheet of CS on the page after you have inserted a piece of cardboard. You will need the added support for the buttons, washers, or whatever you use to decorate the side of your page, which will stick out past the edge.

For some reason, I can't go back and edit this, so what I meant was the one page has not been decorated. I'm not making sense, but blogger is giving me fits, so I'm going to quit and hopefully you will understand what I meant.

Let me try this again. You will need to punch holes in the cardboard that will go through both sides of the page, whether it is decorated, or not. The cardboard is there for support of your buttons or whatever you choose to use. I hope that made a bit more sense. Still can't edit anything.

Very pretty pages BJ. I really love hearts and I like the way you've combined a number of patterns with your hearts.

Hi BJ, loving those heart shaped pockets. Glad you got the Wordplay working, I really love the letters, I think it is simply because there is so much on one die. It is the only TH die I have had any problems with so far. Crafty hugs, Anne x

Beautiful page my lovely, really made me smile today. Glad to see you seem to have your die working a bit better now. I love the way you have used the hearts to make pockets, so so clever.
Lol, am getting a bit behind now, still haven't found time or energy to tackle zip page yet. Fingers crossed I'll find some time soon.
Big hugs x x x x
