About Me

My photo
Hi, Welcome to my Blog. I'm an eclectic kind of crafter delving into many pots. I am just about managing to keep up my Scrapbooking Diary (usually about 6 months behind), plus any cards as required. I have a new found love of Watercolour and Bible Journaling plus recently Faith/Art Journaling too. I've challenged myself to make an art journal page a day for this my 60th year. Previously I've also dabbled in ATCs, Tags, Altered Books, Mixed Media, Décopatch, Knitting, Crochet, and Embroidery amongst other things. I live in Surrey, UK with my husband, our son has left home now. For exercise I usually play Badminton and go Ballroom and Latin Dancing. I also like walking/Geocaching and sometimes do a bit of Bouncing on my Rebounder (mini trampoline). I have been learning to play the harp for the past 10yrs. I am now officially retired. I am a born again Christian, currently worshiping at my local Vineyard Church.

WOYWW #169 - Sew True

I managed to get a place on Neil Walker's Class "Sew True" last Sunday where we discovered all things DISTERSS. In doing so we made the backgrounds for a delightful little mini album on the theme of sewing. I've been adorning mine ever since. I have also been to Ikea and got some paint brushes to alter and use, some of their wrapping tape which I think is like Washi tape and a cute little box with paper clips. Earlier in the week I bought some more paints. Oh and if you look real close you'll see I stuck a button on my Pinflair glue syringe head as it had broken.

Here's the little album. I just love it.

And here are all the pages as I'm sure you'll want a nose in it.

Happy WOYWW everyone.

You may or may not know that I only started sewing three years ago!! So if I can do it, you can too - get a cheap sewing machine and launch into it. Your life will be the richer!! And you'll find you had much more patience than you thought possible!! Or maybe that's just me..... *grin*

Great stuff BJ, I can see Neil's influence and it must have been a great fun class to take. Another slippery slope for you then!!

Beautiful mini album BJ and thanks for the heads up on the Ikea tape - if only the they didn't make you walk three miles to get to where you want to go in there. Jozarty put some tags up they do last week so can see I will have to brave it and visit soon.

You know your audience well -- *of course* we all wanted to see the inside of your gorgeous mini album. Wow. What a fun class that must have been. Thanks for visiting my blog already. The back-to-school cards thing is probably not common -- I just live four hours away from my little nieces and nephew and want them to remember their old auntie, so I send cards for odd occasions. :-) Happy WOYWW!! ~ Laura #122

Hi BJ,

You are so right about the die - it does have sharp edges on BOTH sides. Next time I'll put a piece of paper on the back side and see what happens. Thank you!

I love your mini book. It's just beautiful. Thanks for sharing.

Hi BJ just wanted to thank you for stopping by my blog today. I'm sorry you couldn't see my picture. I've had a hard time with blog this week wanting to load any of my pictures. I thought if I could just copy and paste; but as I see that didn't work. I switch to my computer and not the laptop and it seem to have work. Any way your mini is beautiful I love the papers, colors, and the clear cover. I think I need to give minis a try. I did one of my sister around December for a Christmas gift; but I didn't get the chance to post it. You know how things are crazy around the holidays.

P.S. Thanks so much for stopping by and giving me the heads up. I think I fixed it and hope you would stop back by.

Hugs, Blessing Happy WOYWW #150 AJ~

Well, your book is awesome and thanks for the peek, and for stopping by my blog and leaving me a comment! :)

Well done on getting a place on Neil's class-obviously inspirational as your book is simply stunning.

Ikea-a danger zone! Sounds like you got out lightly, I go in for tea lights and usually come out with 2 bags crammed and something that only just fits in the car!!

Thanks for visiting my desk already
