About Me

My photo
Hi, Welcome to my Blog. I'm an eclectic kind of crafter delving into many pots. I am just about managing to keep up my Scrapbooking Diary (usually about 6 months behind), plus any cards as required. I have a new found love of Watercolour and Bible Journaling plus recently Faith/Art Journaling too. I've challenged myself to make an art journal page a day for this my 60th year. Previously I've also dabbled in ATCs, Tags, Altered Books, Mixed Media, Décopatch, Knitting, Crochet, and Embroidery amongst other things. I live in Surrey, UK with my husband, our son has left home now. For exercise I usually play Badminton and go Ballroom and Latin Dancing. I also like walking/Geocaching and sometimes do a bit of Bouncing on my Rebounder (mini trampoline). I have been learning to play the harp for the past 10yrs. I am now officially retired. I am a born again Christian, currently worshiping at my local Vineyard Church.

12 Months in View - May Calendar Pages

Thought it about time to get my MAY calendar pages ready especially as I needed somewhere to try out the latest challenge on 12months, fitting text into a shape and was all full up in April!

I made a flower stamp for the days, you can make one just the right size this way, although I didn't stamp them close enough the first time so had to quickly rub off as much as I could and re-do them! The middle of the rubber on the stamp kept picking up ink so I perfected it as I went along, all adds to the texture anyways.

I used stains, inks, paints and star sequin waste for the background. I used up already cut letters and coloured them with distress inks for the month title. I used one of the May quotes for the fitting text into a shape technique.

I started an ATC whilst I was at it as a place to try out the colours and stuff. I used up my favourite piece of pink ribbon on there and on the edge of my May page too. Page all ready for filling in and the May flower, I wonder what that will be - probably Blue bells now I have gone all pink!

How clever! I enjoyed watching the demo for the 'fitting text into a shape' - once DH is off to work, I think Iam off to the craft table for a go myself ;)

Super duper layout! Love the text shaping. I have not tried this too much but it looks fun!
