About Me

My photo
Hi, Welcome to my Blog. I'm an eclectic kind of crafter delving into many pots. I am just about managing to keep up my Scrapbooking Diary (usually about 6 months behind), plus any cards as required. I have a new found love of Watercolour and Bible Journaling plus recently Faith/Art Journaling too. I've challenged myself to make an art journal page a day for this my 60th year. Previously I've also dabbled in ATCs, Tags, Altered Books, Mixed Media, Décopatch, Knitting, Crochet, and Embroidery amongst other things. I live in Surrey, UK with my husband, our son has left home now. For exercise I usually play Badminton and go Ballroom and Latin Dancing. I also like walking/Geocaching and sometimes do a bit of Bouncing on my Rebounder (mini trampoline). I have been learning to play the harp for the past 10yrs. I am now officially retired. I am a born again Christian, currently worshiping at my local Vineyard Church.

WOYWW #246 - Welsh Folk Harp

Hello everyone and Happy WOYWW to you all. Here's the answer to last week's conundrum.

A 19 string Welsh Folk Harp.

I had wanted a harp as a small child around 7yrs and had been given a guitar instead. Needless to say I didn't go on to play the guitar at all or any other instrument for that matter. So decided to mark my 50th birthday with getting a harp knowing now that there are smaller ones than the huge orchestral ones which was the reason behind me not getting one as a child. I grew up in Wales from age 9yrs so a Welsh one was quite fitting too.

Crafting has taken a back seat since I got my harp on Saturday but when I did do some I sliced the top of my finger with my craft knife, so no chord practice on my harp for a day (without a plaster!!!)

Anyway, there's a page in my diary for DLP with the line of hearts, a general catch-up last week can be found, here.

There are a few printouts awaiting crafty mojo to hit me.

Plus the cutest little Owl making kit I got for my birthday too.

Oh the sweet sweet sound of the harp is so enchanting....

Congrats on getting that harp you always wanted. They make sure beautiful noise. I can see why crafting has taken a backseat. But when you are interested in it again, it will be there for you. The pretty owls kit is cute. I'll bet they are just as sweet as they look on the package. Judy 93

Hi BJ - that is a beautiful birthday present and I'm so glad that at last you are fulfilling a childhood dream.

I always wanted to have a proper Romany caravan and Mr M has promised that if I can think of a way of getting one down the 1m wide path at the side of our house I can have one - so far I can only think of having it craned over the house but I don't really think it's a go-er!

Hope your finger heals quickly so you can get back to playing. MMx #57

Your harp is a beautiful instrument. Too bad we don't have sound so you could play a chord for us. I also like your page with the hearts.

It looks beautiful and I bet it makes a beautiful sound too - what a lovely present for your special birthday. Take care x

I'm late and missed your birthday all together, but I love that harp. What a beauty. And to think it only took you about 43 years to have your wish come true. Happy belated birthday, dear from #3.
