About Me

My photo
Hi, Welcome to my Blog. I'm an eclectic kind of crafter delving into many pots. I am just about managing to keep up my Scrapbooking Diary (usually about 6 months behind), plus any cards as required. I have a new found love of Watercolour and Bible Journaling plus recently Faith/Art Journaling too. I've challenged myself to make an art journal page a day for this my 60th year. Previously I've also dabbled in ATCs, Tags, Altered Books, Mixed Media, Décopatch, Knitting, Crochet, and Embroidery amongst other things. I live in Surrey, UK with my husband, our son has left home now. For exercise I usually play Badminton and go Ballroom and Latin Dancing. I also like walking/Geocaching and sometimes do a bit of Bouncing on my Rebounder (mini trampoline). I have been learning to play the harp for the past 10yrs. I am now officially retired. I am a born again Christian, currently worshiping at my local Vineyard Church.

Altered Book - Lesson 10 - Places

Another magazine page to finish up my Summer section of my Seasons Altered Book, following Elizabeth's Altered Book Course. Gessoed the pages as before and inked with the other two Summer Distress inks "Mowed Lawn and Salty Ocean". Stamped a boarder round the edge again and dotted 3 acetate butterflies with seed bead bodies around.

Only thing I found was that the gesso on this spread undemined the right hand side of the previous PINK page!! making it decidedly whiter, and the boarder stamping less defined. I restamped the boarder (thank goodness for clear stamps!) I had written the flower names and had to re-write the right hand ones too.

Oh well you live and learn which is why I am on a course!!

Hi BJ,

This is a great page! I love the colors. Yes, you are in a class and the best part is experimenting, don't you think? I love the pink page below also. I'd say you are coming right along!

I'm sitting in Starbucks (where it is air conditioned) as we are still having a heat wave here. Catching up on some of my favorite blogs!

Hi there, nice to meet you at The Craft Barn today. Would love it if you could email the photo you took to me? My wife took some great photo's but not of me!

That's the hazard of having to place an altered page directly behind another altered page. Although I had never heard of the problem you had, I will definitely look into the problem. Of course, I don't use distress ink, so that could be part of the problem.

I like your border and the butterflies. The butterflies make a great addition and embellishments on the pages. And three is a perfect number, too!
