Just wondering if those from the UK have come across Street Life yet? It is free to register and you are located by your postcode and can get/add local information on the group.
I found my Ballroom Dancing Lessons that way, recommended a Chimney Sweep and have been to a new Knitting Group in a local community library.
In the knitting group they are making sheep for the Knitivity for a local church. The church are after around 60 sheep!! The photo of 12 are the ones I met on my first visit to the group.
I am on my 4th at present, my Mother kindly sent me some wool and the correct size needles as my first was with bigger needles and too thick wool! It is rather a chubby sheep and one I won't be able to part with.
Here are all the component parts before being stitched up. This Eco 100% undyed virgin wool can tend to split whist sewing but is the closest to sheep colour and texture really.
I have got together a basket of supplies so I can knit in front of the TV as well as at my craft table, which is sunny in the daytime. These sheep are SO cute.
About Me
- BJ
- Hi, Welcome to my Blog. I'm an eclectic kind of crafter delving into many pots. I am just about managing to keep up my Scrapbooking Diary (usually about 6 months behind), plus any cards as required. I have a new found love of Watercolour and Bible Journaling plus recently Faith/Art Journaling too. I've challenged myself to make an art journal page a day for this my 60th year. Previously I've also dabbled in ATCs, Tags, Altered Books, Mixed Media, Décopatch, Knitting, Crochet, and Embroidery amongst other things. I live in Surrey, UK with my husband, our son has left home now. For exercise I usually play Badminton and go Ballroom and Latin Dancing. I also like walking/Geocaching and sometimes do a bit of Bouncing on my Rebounder (mini trampoline). I have been learning to play the harp for the past 10yrs. I am now officially retired. I am a born again Christian, currently worshiping at my local Vineyard Church.

These are adorable. I wish I could knit because these would be cute for our expected new granddaughter.
Oh my Goodness me !!!!!! HOW CUTE are these and what a brilliant idea for the Church! I can see them all having different expressions hahaha!!!! Have fun my lovely xxx
Hi BJ,
Cute sheep! The church will have a nice flock by the time everyone is done! It's very cool how you found a new knitting group near your home.
Like you, I usually knit in front of the t.v. I watch a lot of t.v. in the winter time as it's too cold to do anything outside. We changed our clocks this weekend so it will now be dark by 4:30 p.m. -- makes for a long night.
Hugs,
Kay
