About Me

My photo
Hi, Welcome to my Blog. I'm an eclectic kind of crafter delving into many pots. I am just about managing to keep up my Scrapbooking Diary (usually about 6 months behind), plus any cards as required. I have a new found love of Watercolour and Bible Journaling plus recently Faith/Art Journaling too. I've challenged myself to make an art journal page a day for this my 60th year. Previously I've also dabbled in ATCs, Tags, Altered Books, Mixed Media, Décopatch, Knitting, Crochet, and Embroidery amongst other things. I live in Surrey, UK with my husband, our son has left home now. For exercise I usually play Badminton and go Ballroom and Latin Dancing. I also like walking/Geocaching and sometimes do a bit of Bouncing on my Rebounder (mini trampoline). I have been learning to play the harp for the past 10yrs. I am now officially retired. I am a born again Christian, currently worshiping at my local Vineyard Church.

WOYWW #255 - Kitchen Chemistry

Looks like I have managed a few things this week, still coughing though.

Firstly my Craft Barn challenge page on "Truth".

Secondly I finished off the inside covers of my round robin art journal. Could really do with a quote for the last one though. A lady and a swan?

Thirdly is my DLP and Craft Club challenge using a favourite product incorporation the packaging.

Oh and my Journal 52 recycling and animal page too.

The page is done in my DLP which is getting mighty chunky now and we are only 1/4 of the way through the year!

Last, but not least, is my little notebook where I am jotting down notes as I am doing an on-line Chemistry course. The courses are free to do and run by various universities in the UK under the name of FutureLearn. This one is called Kitchen Chemistry and you can have a whole lot of fun with a container with a little vinegar at the bottom and by adding half a teaspoon of bicarbonate of soda!

Happy WOYWW everyone.

Hi BJ, you've clearly been busy despite not feeling well ... hope that cough clears up soon. As for the lady and the swan, the only thing I can think of is the poem, Leda and the Swan by WB Yeats, based on a story from Greek mythology, but I'm not sure it is quite what you are looking for! The chemistry sounds like fun. Have a great week. Hugs, Elizabeth x #39

Goodness, BJ - what fun you have been having there!!! love the idea of vinegar and bicarb. Can you put a piece of paper over the bubbles and get a pattern? Does the vinegar colour the paper?
Love the page on truth.
Have a great week.

You need to get rid of that cough. It has lived too long in your body. I've not seen your latest J52 entry, but I love the way you recycled various bits and pieces. I sure could have used an egg when I was making my Easter inspired polyclay piece recently. I suppose it was a die? Or a punch? Regardless, the entire piece is awesome.

For feeling so poorly, you accomplished a LOT this week. WOYWW wishes from # 9.

Hi BJ
happy WOYWW. Sorry I am running late. You have been busy even with a persistent cough...I hope that settles down soon for you. What fun science in the kitchen LOL...sprinkle bicarb in your sink drain hole and then add the vinegar for a home made drain cleaner!!
hugs
