About Me

My photo
Hi, Welcome to my Blog. I'm an eclectic kind of crafter delving into many pots. I am just about managing to keep up my Scrapbooking Diary (usually about 6 months behind), plus any cards as required. I have a new found love of Watercolour and Bible Journaling plus recently Faith/Art Journaling too. I've challenged myself to make an art journal page a day for this my 60th year. Previously I've also dabbled in ATCs, Tags, Altered Books, Mixed Media, Décopatch, Knitting, Crochet, and Embroidery amongst other things. I live in Surrey, UK with my husband, our son has left home now. For exercise I usually play Badminton and go Ballroom and Latin Dancing. I also like walking/Geocaching and sometimes do a bit of Bouncing on my Rebounder (mini trampoline). I have been learning to play the harp for the past 10yrs. I am now officially retired. I am a born again Christian, currently worshiping at my local Vineyard Church.

October SWAP - Embossing

On our UKPC group, this month's SWAP theme was embossing. I used a Darice Woodgrain embossing folder through my Cuttlebug for the backing and a Tim Holtz Frame for the topper. I heat embossed both with gold powder. Wondering if you can count Glossy Accents as embossing too and what about Cosmic Shimmer Glue for the dots? Definitely having a Autumnal Leafy time at present. Gorgeous card BJ, love the colours and your composition works soooo well, brilliant honey. Great example of how embossing can really finish off and make a card.
Huge hugs x x x x

Lovely card BJ. I'm really liking all the dry and powder embossing in particular and the leaves look wonderful with the glossy accents. The wood grain folder is so useful and I hardly use mine - seeing this has made me remember it!

Hi BJ, you really are in an autumnal mood at the moment but keep it up as your results are quite stunning. Love this card and love that embossing folder - oh and your little dots around the card too. Crafty hugs, Anne x

I'm not sure why I went back and read your comment about the upcoming AB posts, since I don't get comments delivered to my e-mail. I plan to keep the two week option, so Covers will appear on the 4th of October. Unlike your book, which is finished, most people probably need the extra time to finish pages in their books. I want them to have as much time as possible, in case they actually DO want to finish their covers around October 4. My HOMEWORK for that lesson will be will be the 28th of October. That is when I plan to show some of YOUR book pages, along with a few others I have picked out.

Not sure if you had been in WOYWW back then, but I showed some of my AB covers here:

I hope that gives you some inspiration and ideas.
