About Me

My photo
Hi, Welcome to my Blog. I'm an eclectic kind of crafter delving into many pots. I am just about managing to keep up my Scrapbooking Diary (usually about 6 months behind), plus any cards as required. I have a new found love of watercolour and Bible Journaling plus recently Junk Journaling too. Previously I've also dabbled in ATCs, Tags, Altered Books, Mixed Media, Art Journaling, Décopatch, Knitting, Crochet, and Embroidery amongst other things. I live in Surrey, UK with my husband, our son has left home now. For exercise I usually play Badminton and go Ballroom and Latin Dancing, but am plagued by a bad back. I like walking which I couple with Geocaching and sometimes Bouncing on my Rebounder (mini trampoline). I guess I am officially retired now. I am a born again Christian, currently worshiping at my local Vineyard Church.

WOYWW #252 - Easter Preparations

Happy WOYWW everyone, come join in the mega blog hop over at Julia's.

I got some new sentiment dies of "Easter" and "Anniversary" and, a bit belated, I got the Timmy lattice stencil and the spritzer thingy but haven't had a chance for a play yet.

I had my second harp lesson this week and made up a journal page of my first song.

Ashtead Craft Club last week was all about Easter and so the boxes and bags we made are still on my desk.

For the DLP prompt of "get someone to draw something and you finish it off". I spent most of Mother's Day trying to get my son to draw something but to no avail so I passed the paper to my husband and he drew a bicycle. I duly finished it off. Bit overboard with my new speckle stamp!

Oh and for those following my garden through the seasons, here's the Magnolia in full bloom, much more timely this year. The Wisteria (in the foreground) is awash with buds too, it will surely have a good show this year.

I am in awe of that back yard. I have pressed magnolia leaves before, but don't have anyone who owns one (tree) now. Lucky you.

That spritzer seems to be making the rounds at a lot of British desks. I see it made yours, too.

I wanted to tell you, you can run those aluminum cans through your die cutter. Just be careful when removing the piece, because it might have a burr on it if the die is old. But it doesn't hurt the die, or the machine.

i forgot to ask. Are you going to the WOYWW crop? I know Helen is going, and I thought the two of you lived sort of close to each other.

Oh I've been toying with the idea of having a magnolia but I'm not sure it will survive up here. I'll have to check with the nursery.
It looks amazing and must bring a smile to your face every time you see it.
I'm impressed hearing about your harp lessons and your journal page looks great. You're certainly a busy talented lady ;D
Enjoy WOYWW and thanks for sharing

Hi BJ, I didn't behead my Bride & Groom, honest, lol. The image has the dress and suit on hangers, which is too fiddly to cut out, and never looks right!Saw a magnolia on an earlier blog- they look beautiful, but don't they make an awful mess when the petals drop?Have a great week, running around late this week, I lost Wednesday completely, lol. Hi BJ. Love the bicycle page for DLP. And your magnolia tree is fabulous. We are just now starting to see flowering bushes and trees coming out. Just started to warm up weather wise this week here in West Virginia, USA. Have a wonderful Easter holiday.

Hi BJ,

What a great idea to make a journal page of your first song played on your harp! I bet your lessons are coming along very well.

The bike your husband drew has lots of character. What a fun project.

The magnolia tree is amazing. I love the blooms. We got snow here yesterday and the rule of thumb is not to plant anything before the middle of May. Yikes!

Thank you for visiting me already! Happy belated WOYWW

Hi BJ. Late getting round this week - you have really been busy! So much going on. well done. Your first song on the harp!! That's great. I remember poor Joy, our daughter, being told she had to learn all the exercizes before she would be allowed to play a tune - as you can guess, that didn't go down too well at the age of 8!!! No wonder she moved o to the saxophone...
Have a great week.

Oh that magnolia is perfect isn't it, what a gift of a sight.
I love the speckle stamp, one of those images the type think you don't early need and then once you own it, you need it on everything!
