Forty Nine today and what a lovely day I've had. I've essentially been on my own to enjoy the sunshine and do as I like as our son has been at school and my husband away in Germany with work! I spent most of my childhood living in Wales so I did study Welsh at school for a couple of years, but I confess I don't know much now, although pronounciation is somewhat easier having studied the basics at a young age.
Anyway one of my friends lives there and is a Welsh speaker and in her card she wrote Pen-Blwydd Hapus which means of course Happy Birthday so I have been saying it all day. Just looked up the constituent words of Pen-Blwydd to find they mean, supreme and year of age so not birth and day at all. Bit like Dragonfly is Gwas Y Neidr which literally means servant of the snake. Work that one out!
