About Me

My photo
Hi, Welcome to my Blog. I'm an eclectic kind of crafter delving into many pots. I am just about managing to keep up my Scrapbooking Diary (usually about 6 months behind), plus any cards as required. I have a new found love of watercolour and Bible Journaling plus recently Junk Journaling too. Previously I've also dabbled in ATCs, Tags, Altered Books, Mixed Media, Art Journaling, Décopatch, Knitting, Crochet, and Embroidery amongst other things. I live in Surrey, UK with my husband, our son has left home now. For exercise I usually play Badminton and go Ballroom and Latin Dancing, but am plagued by a bad back. I like walking which I couple with Geocaching and sometimes Bouncing on my Rebounder (mini trampoline). I guess I am officially retired now. I am a born again Christian, currently worshiping at my local Vineyard Church.

An Attitude of Gratitude #05

Today's technique on the Gratitude Journal was Dyan's Bleachout Technique. First hurdle, no black Dylusion's so used brown instead. Second hurdle, no big outline stamp, but had the one shown here where I cut out the solid centre! The bleachout worked well and my new white pen was just dandy. I used 3 stamps within the scripture today too. The "good" was cut from a Good Luck stamp.

Now for the shocker! Wait for it! The Dylusion inks seeped through the seam along the cords mainly and went on the previous 4 pages! HELP! Managed to paint a bit over the splodge on yesterdays green page. I sort of diluted the red on the sun, and have added journaling too.
I have no idea what to do with the stalagmite on the cosmic page but the small red splodge on page one became a poppy!

Any ideas - I'm all ears!

Well done. If you get a wet brush you can blend the red ink into the other colours.

Another fab page BJ, love the bleach-out technique, you have demonstrated it superbly. Ooh, what a shame about the seepage but I agree with Bernice above, you should be able to blend it in ok.
Huge hugs x

I love all your pages, and the ink seeping through is what happened to my book. Next book I am doing all the pages out of the book and then will tip them in. Never again will I do one directly in the book! waving hi from the hills of North Carolina :)

I would leave as is as it doesnt look too bad - I started mine in a book and then ripped it out after the first page as I wanted to ink the edges better (my book was ring bound) so now I have to make/find another book to put them in! Love all your pages so far though.

It's a shame when the seepage happens, isn't it. I've just experienced it in my art journal, with red spots appearing on my Tyger Tyger page! I can touch it up, though. From now on, I'm going to work on alternate pages, and glue them down onto the blank ones in between, so I don't get that problem. I haven't tried Dylusions in this particular art journal because they are so messy and I thought I'd be bound to get it all over the rest of the book! I think perhaps the best art journals are ones that can easily be taken apart and reassembled, so there's no risk of damaging other pages. Something for me to think about, anyway!!
